Auctioneer, Ray Krakowski, Completes Certified Auctioneers Institute Designation

Dryden auctioneer, Ray Krakowski, CAI, GPPA, PRI of Beth Rose Real Estate & Auction recently completed his training at the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI). CAI is the industry’s premier training program developed by the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) for auction professionals.

Krakowski joins an exclusive group as there are less than 1,000 current CAI designation holders in the world as of March 2016 in an industry that estimates over 100,000 auctioneers in the United States.

The three year CAI designation program provides auction professionals the opportunity to earn the industry’s most respected professional designation. CAI is an intensive, executive development program offering professional auctioneers with instruction and coursework in business management, ethics, finance, communications, strategic planning and marketing.

The NAA conducts CAI every March at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

Ray Krakowski, CAI, GPPA, PRI, is an Auctioneer attaining the designations of Graduate Personal Property Appraiser and the Professional Ringmans Institute. He is a Realtor and Director of Business Development with Beth Rose Real Estate & Auction, and specializes in luxury real estate.

Mother, Daughter Auction Team Battle it out to be Champion


“The relationship between a mother and daughter can only truly be understood by mothers and daughters. They can go from fighting to laughing in a second,” explains an article by Entrepreneur Magazine about mother-daughter businesses. But in this case, this duo goes from business partners to competitors when they hit the stage.

Beth Rose, owner of Beth Rose Real Estate and Auctions, and mother to Sara Rose Bytnar, was crowned the 2015 International Auctioneer Champion 1st Runner Up in Dallas, Texas.

And her daughter, Sara, was the 2014 International Auctioneer Champion 1st Runner Up in Louisville, KY exactly one year before her.  If that wasn’t enough, the Mother-daughter duo will compete against each other next year in Grand Rapids, MI for the coveted title International Auctioneer Champion, representing the National Auctioneers Association.

Both are state champions; Beth was the first female in history to be Michigan’s Auctioneer Champion in 2009, and Sara is the reining 2014-2015 Florida Auctioneer Champion.

As business partners, Beth and Sara are powerhouses in the luxury real estate auction market. The two have discovered a niche auctioning high-end homes with riveting back-stories. Their latest auctions showcased a haunted hotel and a Detroit mansion tied to the mafia, to name a few.

What’s next for the duo? The two will continue to pursue their real estate auction business, but when it comes to the competition, it’s ever woman for herself.

The distinction honors Rose’s marketing efforts as among the nation’s best.


Winners of the 2015 National Auctioneers Association Marketing Competition, presented in partnership with USA TODAY, have been announced. Beth Rose Real Estate and Auctions took first place in the Digital & Social Media Category for their Facebook entry and the Multi-Property Real Estate Auction Category for their Personal Property entry.

Beth Rose was also awarded several second place finishes in the following categories:

  • Postcards – Development Land Real Estate
  • Postcards – Recreational Real Estate
  • Public Relations and Marketing – Bidder Card
  • Public Relations and Marketing – Company Brochure

All winners in the contest were formally recognized during the NAA Marketing Competition Awards Reception in Addison, Texas during the International Auctioneers Conference and Show, July 16th. Winners received an award, and their entries were on display.

Overall, the annual NAA Marketing Competition, presented in partnership with USA TODAY, continues its rise as the premier contest for NAA members to showcase their marketing efforts. The total number of entries continued its steady climb seen over the past several years, as did the quality level of those entries.

This year’s contest highlighted coast-to-coast, top-level marketing efforts as winners from numerous states and South Africa emerged. The competition featured 57 sub-categories in seven categories: Postcards, Brochures & Catalogs, Newspaper/Magazine Print Ads, Public Relations & Marketing, Digital & Social Media, Photography and Auction Marketing Campaign of the Year.

The task of determining winners was given to a panel of marketing and advertising professionals, all of which have backgrounds in branding, promotion, media, public relations and graphic design. Judging criteria included considerations such as creativity, ad effectiveness, clarity and visual appeal.

Low Inventory of Grosse Pointe Historical Homes Pushes Real Estate Market Up

Grosse Pointe is known for luxurious, historically relevant estates that tell their own stories dating back to the early 1900s. Today, residents of Grosse Pointe still treasure the history and tradition on which it was founded.

Famous architects like Marcel Breuer, Hugh T. Keyes, and Albert Kahn, known as the architect of Detroit, made a significant impact on the culture of what makes Grosse Pointe one of the best suburbs of the Motor City to this day.

Homes for sale in Grosse Pointe, Michigan have seen inventory drop drastically in the last year due to improving market conditions. As a result, home prices are rising and inventory is moving even faster.

According to the Realcomp Multiple Listing Service statistics, sales prices in Grosse Pointe have jumped 43% in the last six months in the luxury real estate segment (home prices $1,000,000+).

The real estate market of Grosse Pointe Farms is especially hot. Beth Rose Real Estate and Auctions just announced the 2013 Grosse Pointe Historical Show House, 221 Lewiston Road, will hit the auction block May 30th.
